friday - DEPTH
I created this quiet tribute to the victims of Hurricane Katrina a few days ago but it speaks loudly of depth.

Comment by rowantree 09.10.05 @ 11:31 pmHow would you like to work for a bank? We could use a fresh talent like you. We’d feed off of your soul and strip you of all creative urges, but we have benfits and a 401K. Who knows, we may even scrub that hippie right out of you and make you a front office man?
Comment by Rusty Shackleford 09.13.05 @ 5:32 pmwonderful illustration - I also loved your one last week - your writing amused me
Comment by Julie Oakley 09.13.05 @ 7:59 pmSimply beautiful. I think this could be my favorite Illustration Friday illustration of the week.
Comment by Jared Chapman 09.15.05 @ 2:22 amWow this is beautifully drawn. He is so frozen in time but yet I can imagine his nostrils flaring out and blowing down again. There is so much tension in the illo!
Comment by Tanja 09.15.05 @ 1:01 pmGreat dramatic use of light.
It’s a “memory” work? or you use some info document about light (like poser or some kind of photo reference?)
Scary amazing-work.

Very powerful. I found myself just staring at it as if I were there in the dark night. Beautiful work…masterful rendering of light…reminds me of a graphic Georges de La Tour!
